Isaac’s 7 1/2 months old! Family update…

July 7, 2009

Here’s a little note with what’s been happening in our (Isaac’s) life as of late…

Isaac is now 7 1/2 months old and a whopping 22 lbs! His hair is getting a little curly, so we think he might have gotten my curly locks! His eyes are still blue, so perhaps they’ll stay that way — I don’t know if they can still change at this point?!?

Isaac’s about ready to start crawling, but most people think he’s going to run before he does anything else. He’s becoming more independent during the day and is happy as a clam just sitting on the carpet and playing with all of his toys. He’s just starting to cut his top 2 front teeth — the bottom two have been coming in since mid-May and are VERY sharp!

As for me, I recently joined a “mothers of boys” group here is Berks County, so between that and hanging out with our best friend Mady (she’s the 1 yr. old daughter of my high school friend, Amanda — who now lives right around the block from us!), we are keeping ourselves busy.

I’ve also throw my shyness aside and begun accosting anyone I meet that has a child about Isaac’s age. That’s how we met our new friends, Karen and John, who are proud parents to Elijah (who’ll be turning 1 in a week!) Elijah can be found in the Summer Fun photo slideshow here.

Isaac, Jason and I just picked our first homegrown veggies. 2 peppers and a tomato!

Summer Fun: Swinging, splashing, first cookie and new friends!

July 6, 2009

Isaac’s been a busy man these last few weeks. He had his first cookie (well, it was a teething biscuit, but still. It’s kind of like a cookie, right?). He met a new friend named Elijah, and had a great time on July 4th splashing in the pool like the big kids! We also (finally) hung his swing in the breezeway, so now we can enjoy a little sun-free outdoor time, especially on beautiful days like the past week has given us.

All in all it’s shaping up to be an amazing summer of new experiences!
